A BIT ABOUT YOGA+

The thought behind Yoga+ is integration. Whether it be relating to physical and mental flexibility, perinatal health, yoga therapy or improving the understanding behind how yoga works, at yoga+, teachers integrate scriptural and modern scientific knowledge to explain the various mechanisms of yoga.

This is an integrated evidence based approach to adding yoga to one’s life.

 

ABOUT OUR PRACTICE

How We Got Here

Yoga+ was founded in order to support and foster the sense of mindfulness and peace in the surrounding community through yoga. The philosophy of Yoga+ is to integrate a variety of approaches to achieve and maintain your optimal health through the right understanding, correct breathing and best posture. 

​Whether you are experiencing pain or simply want to improve your physical and mental wellbeing, Yoga Plus provides a healing and friendly environment to do so. Strongly rooted to Scientific Evidence Based Yoga Techniques gives Yoga+ the edge over others to be able to complement conventional treatment with Yoga.

With a strong focus on Women's health, Yoga+ conducts a spectrum of activities.

Multidisciplinary workshops & webinars to improve the knowledge base on the biology and pathophysiology of several health issues.

Yoga classes for women's health issues including the very popular perinatal yoga program and  the PCOS & Infertility workshops

Teachers' Training programs for various common health problems that yoga can help with.

NIDHI
CHOUDHARY

Dr. Nidhi Choudhary is a yoga consultant and a yoga researcher. Having completed her Masters and Ph.D. in yoga, she has worked in the fields of PCOS, antenatal care, Infertility and Menopause over the past fifteen years. Dr. Nidhi’s doctoral work on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which was funded by Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India, lead to first estimation of PCOS in India, and also first ever study evaluating the efficacy of yoga based lifestyle program on PCOS. Dr Nidhi has co-authored over 15 research publications in indexed peer-reviewed journals. Some of her better-known publications include “Dealing with Glucose metabolism and the endocrine system in adolescents with PCOS”, and “Yoga for obesity”. 

She has presented her work at several international conferences like the “International Conference on Traditional & Alternative Medicine” and the “Congress of the International
Diabetes Federation”. She is also on the editorial board of several scientific journals and has also received “Integrative Medicine Program & Research Training” from MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas.
Dr. Nidhi has worked with infertility and PCOS clinics to provide yoga to patients and also mentored research at the esteemed SVYASA Yoga University to Post-graduates and Doctoral scholars. She has visited and conducted yoga for women’s health workshops in USA, Singapore, and Japan. Working closely with the Government of India, Dr. Nidhi was instrumental in the planning and execution of the first International Yoga Day, developing the curriculum for yoga certification by the Quality Council of India and is a regular faculty at the World Yoga Festival, held at Rishikesh.
On a more personal note, she has been a yoga practitioner for more than two decades and has studied from the Iyengar School of Yoga from Padma Vibhusan BKS Iyengar and other teachers at her hometown of Rishikesh.
